World Music, Inc. and One Village Alliance presents the 5th Annual Cultural Expo at The Baby Grand Theater in downtown Wilmington, Delaware! This event commemorates African history with cultural performances, cultural vendors, respected honorees and fun for the entire family. The event starts at 9 a.m. TODAY, February 25th, and will continue until 10:00 p.m. This all day event promises to be educational and entertaining with performances by Richard Raw, Griots Wa Umoja Drummers, Dice Raw of The Roots, Precise Science, Nene Ali, Pieces of a Dream Dance Company, DJ Supreme and many more.
In an effort to rejuvenate the dying cultural environment in the city of Wilmington, World Music, Inc. and One Village Alliance have created The Cultural Expo as an extracurricular event for families of all ethnicities to enjoy. Since this is an all day event, it has been split into two segments; one in the morning/afternoon and one in the evening hours.
Starting at 9:00 a.m., nearby schools will fill The Baby Grand Theater with eager students ready for an exciting day of culture and entertainment. The students will experience the importance of the African drum and cultural music as well as gain an appreciation for history. After the children leave, the excitement will continue into the evening hours with performances, vendors, and presentations for the public to enjoy. Although The Cultural Expo's first segment is devoted to school children, the general public is welcome to attend and participate in some of the activities available during the day. Likewise, the evening segment is open to everyone of all ages—including those students who attended early in the day and would like to come back later for the evening performances.
General admission into the event is $14.00 and $10.00 for students with a student id. The Baby Grand Theater is located at 818 N. Market Street in downtown Wilmington, Delaware. Re.Definition will definitely be in attendance for this wonderful event! Hope to see you there!
