Since May 2009, we have been patiently waiting for a television miracle- a miracle that would bring our favorite CW crew back for another season. Derwin, Melanie, Tasha, Malik, Jason and Kelly...we needed them back like a crackhead needs crack. Seriously.
Well my friends, the television gods heard our silent prayers and The Game has returned! BET is bringing The Game back one mo' gin with a brand new season. It's been nearly two years and we (the fans) are ready to see our favorite characters back in action! The show premieres January 11th on BET.
Are you excited? I know I am...
But I wonder, after such a long hiatus, a new network home, and extremely high expectations from its fans, will The Game be able to pick up where it left off? Will its audience like the Derwin and Melanie saga post wedlock? Would it have been better that we be satisfied with reruns rather than to risk the chance of disappointment in this new season?
Unfortunately, I can't answer those questions, but after seeing the upcoming season's commercials a gazillion times (I watched the 2-day marathon over this New Years holiday), I am a lil' bit worried. The hair, the make-up, the cheap-looking promo pics----it all screams DISAPPOINTMENT. I really hope BET's cheap photoshop looking promos are no indication of what we should expect this season. I need for this show to be successful...I need something worthwhile to look at on television. This 'reality t.v.' mess ain't cuttin' it. And neither are those Tyler Scary sitcoms. Ugh.
